Op-Ed: The Stage is being set for the Prophecy of Gog and Magog Right Before Our Eyes
And the word of the Lord came to me saying, “Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal. “I will turn you about and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them splendidly attired, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them wielding swords; Persia, Ethiopia and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet; Gomer with all its troops; Beth-togarmah from the remote parts of the north with all its troops—many peoples with you.”
In these prophetic verses above, we see that in the last days the Lord will raise up a powerful political military leader who is called “Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal to assemble a confederacy of nations who will seek to attack and destroy the nation of Israel.
Although raised up by God, it is important to understand that God Himself will ultimately destroy him and his army on the mountains of Israel so all the nations will know, “I Am the Lord! As we read in Scripture:
Prophecy against Gog, the Prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal.
Declare, “I am against you!” “I will turn you about and put hooks in your jaws and bring you and your army against the land and people of the nation of Israel.”
Then God names some of the nations in this mighty army:
Persia – Iran and Iraq today
Ethiopia – Ethiopia and the Sudan
Put – Libya, and Algeria
Gomer – Modern day Turkey
Beth-togarmah – This is the Turkic-speaking peoples that spread out from Turkey across the Causasus, and across Central Asia. These nations will likely be many of the “Stans,” such as Afghanistan, Turkistan, Pakistan, and all the other “Stans.”
Notice all the nations named in Ezekiel 38 are today, Muslim nations.
However, as we continue reading, we come to the key verse that reveals the place where Gog and his army come from. “The remote parts of the north with all its troops—many peoples with you.”
The country that is farthest to the north in relation to Israel is Russia. At this writing today, more than 50% of Russia is now Muslim.
In order to gain further clarity to this Op-Ed: there is a link http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5577929/Putin-cements-alliance-Iran-Turkey-Syria-summit-Ankara.html
to the lead article posted on trumpet-er.com US/World News. As you read this article you will see clearly pictures of the leaders of Russia, Turkey, and Iran meeting together to bring about a “Cease fire,” in Syria, and to decide the fate of this fractured nation..
Yet, while that is their stated purpose today, you are witnessing right before the world’s eyes, a biblically prophesied alliance forming between three of the primary nations prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39.
Knowingly or unknowingly, these three nations are together presently bringing a covenant for one future purpose, the destruction of Israel.
Take Note Who is Missing From This Meeting
However, notice who is conspicuously missing from the pictures with the leaders of Turkey, Russia, and Iran.
Incredibly, the United States, the most powerful nation on earth politically, economically, and militarily is completely absent from this meeting.
Next, observe that Bashar Assad, the President of Syria, the nation whom these three leaders are dividing up, and intending to rule over is conspicuously absent from this meeting. It is obvious that Assad is now simply a lap dog for his Russia and Iranian masters.
Ask yourself, why are the US and the President of Syria not present at this meeting? The obvious reason is simply because neither the US nor Syria is mentioned in the prophecy regarding the future war in which Gog and his confederacy of nations that will come against Israel. Prophetically, neither Syria nor the US will be combatants in this biblical war!
Even stranger, as we read on in this coming war of Gog and Magog, Scripture declares before the war starts, Israel will live safely and securely in their land. How can this be possible?
Israel Will Live Safely and Securely in Their Land
This is confirmed in Scripture. In Ezekiel 38, we read in three separate verses that before Gog’s invasion Israel is dwelling safely in their land.
“After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into the land that is restored from the sword, whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had been a continual waste; but its people were brought out from the nations, and they are living securely, (safely) all of them.” Ezekiel 38:8
“And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates.” Ezekiel 38:11
“Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “On that day when My people Israel are living securely, (Safely) will you not know it?” Ezekiel 38:14
Ask yourself the question, “Since 1948, up until today, when have the Israelites ever lived safely and securely in their land; in their cities and dwellings without walls, bars, or gates?
The answer is NEVER!
Israel has fought three major wars for its very existence since becoming a nation in 1948. Israel was forced to fight major wars in 1948, 1967, and 1973, along with numerous small wars in between and afterwards, where the nations that border Israel have attacked her, with one single purpose; seeking the complete destruction of the nation of Israel.
In these wars, and the wars in between and afterwards, all the nations that border Israel have attacked Israel using thousands of tanks, hundreds of aircraft, thousands of rockets, and armies with hundreds of thousands of soldiers for one specific purpose; “That the name of Israel will be remembered no more!”
Yet, Scripture declares a time is coming when the Israelites will dwell safely in their land. Therefore, ask yourself the question:
How then can this possibly come about?
It will come about through the events described in the Psalm 83/Isaiah 17 war. Understand, this next prophetic war, the Psalm 83/Isaiah 17 war will be fought before the Ezekiel 38-39 War known as the Gog and Magog war!
A war where the nations that border Israel are completely destroyed. Consequently, when Israel has no neighbours on her borders who can threaten her or attack her; only then can Israel live safely in her land, and the entire world will know it, including Gog and his coalition of nations!
Gog Comes up Against the Land of Israel
“Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “On that day when My people Israel dwell safely, will you not know it?
“Then you will come from your place out of the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army. You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes.”
‘Thus says the Lord God, “Are you he of whom I have spoken in former days by My servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days for years that I would bring you against them?
“And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord God, “that My fury will show in My face.
“For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: Surely in that day there will be a great earthquake in the land of Israel, so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all the creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face of the earth shall shake at My presence. The mountains shall be thrown down, the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
“I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,” says the Lord God. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother.
“And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire and brimstone.
“Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” ’
Notice How Different the Gog and Magog War is from the Psalm 83/Isaiah 17 War
Clearly, just as prophesied in Scripture, Gog and his army will come from the far north against the land of Israel. Yet, this war will be entirely different from the previous Psalm 83-Isaiah 17 war. Israel and the IDF must fight the Psalm 83-Isaiah 17 war, however, God Himself will fight Got-Magog war on behalf of Israel.
Notice that God says, “That in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I will call for a sword against Gog.” “In My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.
On that day, all the men who are on the face of the earth will shake at My presence; the mountains shall also be thrown down, the steep places shall fall to the ground. The Lord declares, “I will call for a sword against him on all My mountains,” declares the Lord God. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother. “With pestilence and with blood I will enter into judgment with him; and I will rain on him and on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, a torrential rain, with hailstones, fire and brimstone.”
UNLIKE MAN, WHEN GOD FIGHTS, HE TAKES NO PRISONER’S
Clearly we see in these verses it is the God of Israel who fights against Gog and his army, and when God fights a war there is one very significant different in the outcome – THERE ARE NO PRISONERS!
WHEN THE LORD FIGHTS
“I will magnify Myself, sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”
THE NATIONS WILL KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD, THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL
“And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal; and I will turn you around and lead you on, bringing you up from the far north and bring you against the mountains of Israel.
“Then I will knock the bow out of your left hand and cause the arrows to fall out of your right hand.
“You shall fall upon the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you; I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
“You shall fall on the open field; for it is I who have spoken,” says the Lord God. “And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in security in the coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the Lord. “So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel.”
Notice who is doing the fighting against Gog and his army.
Behold, I am against you, says the Lord.
I will knock the bow out of your left hand and cause the arrows to fall out of your right hand..
You shall fall on the Mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you.
I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
You shall fall on the open field; for it is I who have spoken says the Lord God.
My holy name I will make known in the midst of My people Israel.
I will not let them profane My holy name anymore.
The nations will know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel!
In this biblical war there is no doubt who is fighting Gog and his army, and there is no doubt who wins. There is no doubt when it is over all Israel and all the nations will know that the One who fought for Israel and prevailed is the Lord, the Holy One in Israel!
It is a fact, when the nations rage and fight against the Lord God of Israel and His people, they will learn a hard lesson as stated clearly in Scripture in Isaiah 43:10-13
“You are My witnesses,” says the Lord,
“And My servant whom I have chosen,
That you may know and believe Me
And understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed,
Nor shall there be after Me.
“I, even I, am the Lord,
And besides Me there is no savior.
“I have declared and saved
I have proclaimed,
And there was no foreign god among you;
Therefore you are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “that I am God.
“Indeed before the day was, I am He,
And there is no one who can deliver out of My hand;
I work, and who will reverse it?”
